Heheh first day of school was pretty fun today! Though we have already met up a few times, I was quite happy to get to know the scholars more :D Hmmm..
OHOH AND 1B TRIBE ROCKS TTM. :P I heard about our victory and I think we wouldn't have made it without our awesome teamwork! :)

Mm so sorry that I had to leave halfway. Had some family stuff to attend to. Yeps anyways, hope tomorrow will be fun and we'll learn more about each other! :D HEHEH I think we're one of the most bonded classes anyways. AND WE'LL BE NO.1 OKAY 11V11!!! :D WHOOOOT!! <3

Hi, everyone!

It’s nice to meet you, my new classmates here. I had a great fun on the first day of the orientation. Being surprised by the PSLs’ organization, I’d like to say thanks to you all.

What an exciting day! We played lots of funny games. I got to know the local students better after some games, but still can not remember many of the guys’ names.囧. Bad memory… Of course the treasure hunt is the most awesome one. (Our tribe got the 3^rd place. Good, right?) Eh it was also the most tiring one.

The cheers really surprised me. Why you guys always so energetic?

I’VE BEEN FERVENTLY ANTICIPATING THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL FOR LIKE MONTHS ALR.

THE DAY STARTED WITH A BANGGGGGGThe day started out horribly. LOL. My dad was too kiasu and made me leave house at 6.30
Consequently, I reached school at 6.48 -.-

[#1 Fact about VJC: Never come school too early because its dark, spooky and creepy.]
Yea. I was super lonely ):

I’m sad/proud to say that our tribe was the tribe that left all the wheelbarrow work to the guys. Hohoho. SORRY JACK AND OLIVER! ):

Then we fin in 15^th place :O but yea.

All in all, First day of IPO/ School was super fun(; with all the noisy and hyper classmates, and yea(: I had a lot of fun, and I learnt a lot about teamwork today. I learnt how to work well as a team, and stuff like that. And of course, I’ve bonded with the awesome 11V11. Yay. I hope and I believe tmr will be even more fun(:

Hello poots.

Honestly I was super duper afraid and nervous (and excited) about today. And it was better than I expected (:

I think the PSLs did a really good job in organising this.I seriously don't know how they can take it planning for this whole orientation! It's so tiring.

Hmm, it's quite cool that the PSLs emphasized about from an individual, to pairs, to groups. And I think it's a very good way to slowly allow us to bond as a whole. ;D Station games were fun fun fun! Ice breakers were fine cause I didn't know the scholars!

Yup, anyway im excited for tomorrow and tired too ahahha!

Vincent Here! :D [Day 1]

Hi guys :D

First of all, I'd like to congratulate 11V11 on posting your reflections so fast! As of now, Im the last guy to post. (I think, heh) Ahhh I procrastinate alot :D. But that's a different story.

Moving on.

Today's activities were really really fun. By fun, I mean really tiring and exhausting. It started off with (give me a moment to refer to mah program booklet) Icebreakers! We had to pass around 2 balls. Whenever the 2 balls meet, the guy holding them both will have to do a forfeit. The Chee Chong Fun :O Luckily I never had to do the forfeits so it went well for me. ;) Meanwhile, it was fun sabotaging the people around me by wasting time. Anyway, it was a nice bonding session. Many other icebreaker games were played such as Splat. They were all very nice and engaging. :)

Afterwards was the telematch. We had to go to the Basketball court for it. Then the foyer. Then the basketball court. And THEN the foyer again. Actually at that time, I had to go Pee really badly. And passing by that fountain 4 times while moving here and there really didnt help. Anyway, we had to be paired up in Males and Females and play a quiz-game. It was a really good way to help us gain knowledge of the ever-mighty VJC, at the same time bond with our classmates. In pairs, at least. We were at the lead at first, when suddenly a PSL told us that we were making too much noise and were disturbing the upper levels with their test. So we had to (passing by the fountain again) head towards the Parade Square to continue with the game. In the end, 13 managed to catch us up in terms of points. So we ended up in second place. But I believe we're still winners... in our hearts :D

After Lunch, came the event of the day. The Treasure Hunt! Wooo. Sounded exciting and fun at first, but little did we know how tiring and exhausting it'll be later onwards. We had to find clues to a location to do an activity, and then it'll give clues to another location.. so on, to eventually find the Golden Lightning Bolt of Awesomeness. If you ask me, I think Zeus should've held on to his Lightning Bolt more tightly so he wouldnt have to lose it and we wouldnt have to go look for it. That'd solve all problems, you see :) Okay, but seriously, the event in my opinion was fun overall as we had a chance to bond with a group of our classmates, getting to know how they behave better, at the same time giving us a chance to explore the ever-mighty... VJC.

All in all, i guess it was a great 1st day of IPO, and job well done to the PSLs! :D Can't imagine what'll be installed for us in the next 4 d... actually yes I can. I got the Program Booklet. Meh.

Day 1 Awesomeness :D

Hellos!:D Must we really do this? So tired already:| Oh well... Fine.
Woke up super early today like 5:30am? So not used to that timing... All thanks to the hols that messed up my lifestyle:/ Hope that i can get use to this by this week:) 
Lala so took the bus to serangoon then circle line-ed to paya lebar den bus my way to VJC... Couldnt be any much drastic difference from VS life.. Met Sean on the bus at Parkway.. Sean: I envy you... Stay so close to school.. Can wake up at 7 walau haha:P
Anyways reached school, went to the elective hub and lala (stone) outside, along with a few super enthusiastic early birds:) 
More lala when waiting for activities to start.. And nice storyline about the Greek gods, seniors:) added a whole new purpose to things we did.. LOL 
Met the scholars from our class:) 3 china chinese and 2 Indian scholars:) had a hard time remembering their name:/ guess i have forgotten most of their names:/ but I'll try my best still:) 
Ice breakers were fun and it was a great way to start the activities for the day:) with some lame yet exciting games lol.. Ice weren't exactly melted because most of us have hanged out together during the hols:) 
Had fun watching people get sabo-ed and do forfeit during the sun moon game thing lol:P 
Next up, Telematch :D it was really competitive, even though some stuff were kinda lame and simple:P learned some random facts about VJC haha We lost to v13 at the last round :O but it was fun still:) and we did our best:)
Then came the most energy draining activity of the day: Treasure Hunt!:D Zeus' lightning was somehow missing and 20 tribes were out hunting for it! Learned much about VJC during the hunt and cheers too:) thanks to my tribe's ic I-Lin for her guidance:) and to all my tribe mates: Darren, Eri, Jaslyn, Angelie (not sure if it spelt that way:P sorry if it's wrong:/)and Ginnette:) we made it into 11st place:) woohoo! ELEVEN :) like our class' name:) 
Then finally things ended on another high note:) jokes, games, cheers and laughter-filled last 2 hours:) and FINALLY debrief:) 
Like the seniors said the aim for us is to start as 1, end as 1 at the end of IPO. And I believe we made a huge first step towards achieving the ultimate goal:) 
And the moral of today's adventure: teamwork, camaraderie haha was learned through those games we played together:D thanks seniors and PSLs for organising this awesome day for us and I look forward to more awesomeness tomorrow and the days after:D

Huimin's reflection (Day 1)

Hey all! Huimin here! Hope most of you guys remember me. :D

Okay, today was. Tiring. Basically because we had to walk around the school and I fell on the bridge when counting the planks (T_T) but.. nevermind.

Icebreakers was really funny because at first I couldn’t really remember people’s names so starting was plenty much stoning there and trying to figure out the other person’s name. But at least I can remember most of the names by the end of it. Telematch was really fun even just by sitting and watching others go up. I remembered I was really nervous that I would get some difficult action or question but thank god lah, I got an easy action and question.  Although we lost to 11V13, it’s still okay because we all did our best and it was also very close. Not to mention plenty of fun and interaction with our peers. ^^

Treasure hunt was.. shag. Had to run about the school looking for the various stations and search for the clues. NOT ONLY THAT. I decided I need to grow taller because the section where we needed to find the different words and unscramble them I CANNOT TAKE THE PAPER BECAUSE IT WAS ON THE CELING AND I WAS JUMPING LIKE MANIAC TRYING TO GET IT BUT I WAS TOO SHORT. So I had to find my team mates to help me take it in the end (so depressing). Side note: sorry for not helping in during the umm, carry balloon thingy section. L . The sucking up was the most difficult (in my opinion) because many cheers were re-used and yeah.. very hard to think up of cheers. Also have to be grateful that we had a PSL leading us or else I’m sure to get lost in the school. But in the end I find that it’s all worthwhile as we managed to work together as a team and complete the treasure hunt successfully. Although I (and many others I’m sure) were smelling like stinkbombs because we perspired a lot, hey have to admit, it was lots of fun eh? :D

Last but not least, a BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THE PSLs. Thank you for putting in so much effort to plan out IPO and bond us together. The activities were very fun and the videos were awesome. I’m sure the next 4 days will be as fun and we will get to know each other even better. :D

Ginnette's Reflections for Day 1

SO after bumming for 2 months, I was happy for myself to get out of the house. Hehehe
Our PSLs are pretty awesome for coming up with such an interesting theme. The whole concept is really cool. I think the ice breakers helped to get to know each other better. I am trying very hard to remember all your names and match 'em to your faces. The telematch was fun! We did great! 
Oh yes, then we had lunch. We should try find a bigger table to accommodate all of us. AND OH MY GOODNESS THEY SELL MOGU MOGU!!!!! :D
The treasure hunt was exciting. My tribe was lagging behind at the start but we caught up, oh yeah! We probably spent half the time sucking up and trying to learn new ways to suck up though. 
Looking forward to what more is in store for us this week. Let's get closer as the week progresses!

Reflections for Day 1

IPO was FUN!!!

I think that through the icebreakers we got to know each other better...or maybe know each others names and got to know the other seniors. The games we played for the icebreakers were quite fun and I believe we enjoyed them! So thanks to the PSLs! And of course to the efforts of 11v11 which made everything so awesome!

Then the video was super funny! And I am impressed by the creative storyline the PSLs managed to come out with! And the dressing up and the acting!

I think that we did our best for telematch, though we lost to 13 by 2 points...I think that's quite good already since we almost won anyway.

For the treasure hunt, I think our class was awesome as one of our tribes managed to come in 1st and get the lightning bolt! And 1d was awesome too by coming in 3rd place! ( Even though it was quite tiring, I must say, running around the school)

And we managed to think of some cheers to suck up to the gamemasters and earn more points! :D

I think we all had a good day today and will be looking forward to tomorrow and the coming activities! And I believe that after IPO we would be bonded as a class and as a cohort!

Andris' Reflection - Day 1

Finally it’s the first day of school!

I was like rotting at home for the past one week since there was almost no one to talk to (except people of 11V11).

I woke up at 5.00am. Grr… I hate being up so early but oh well; I got no choice since I stay in Woodlands. Tsk.  (Some people keep on disturbing me about it)

Ok, let’s go straight to the time we started our orientation.

The first question that was asked was, “Have you eaten your breakfast?”

Haha! Almost all the IP1 students did but most of the PSLs did not. What an irony! The introduction to this year IPO theme was very interesting, especially the video. (I like Hades laugh. It is so awesome!)

Ice breakers! There wasn’t much ice to break since we sort of know each other quite well already. Except for the scholars, who we just met today. I love the canvas game. It is so funny when you suddenly become face to face with someone and try to scream out his or her name first. Haha! Trying to guess the scholars’ name actually killed many of us since we can’t really remember their name in such short time! The Earth and Moon game was awesome too! The forfeit was even better than the game actually. Telematch! I was actually pretty annoyed cause we were told to go to the parade square and then back to the piano area and run back to the parade square again...  But anyways, it was fun! Especially to see people do push up, sit up, poking all at full speed! :D Haha! The PSL were as excited as us.

Lunch break! Cool! We got to discuss our cheer but we didn’t really get one out since we were considering too many types of cheer.

I didn’t really enjoy the treasure hunt since I was quite tired already. But yay! Our class won! Yay to tribe 1b and PSL Angela! :D I quite enjoy the searching for paper in the dark part and the conveying message game. Oh! The twist hand thingy was supremely easy. 3 steps and we were untangled already! :D

Can’t wait for tomorrow to come although the ride to school will be the most dreaded!

1st day and its awesome already!

Hii! :D.

Today was awesome! Even though we already knew our classmates quite well, the icebreakers still were very fun, especially with the scholars since we haven't met them yet (before today).
*must remember to make friends with the scholars:)*
After that was the telematch, much more effective than icebreakers, i think....Since we sat boy-girl,boy-girl so it forces people to mix ^ ^. On to the treasure hunt...UNIQUE! All the Greek mythology and the story lines to go with the games(Y) I can see the PSLs really put in a lot of effort into making today so exciting!
Amidst all the fun we still remembered to 'begin as 1, end as 1'. Most of our activities required teamwork such as the cheers and games so we really got together and helped each other out :D
Totally looking forward to the next 4 days of IPO to see what other interesting activities there are.

Jaslyn's Day 1 Reflections

I re-realized how mentally and physically draining these kind of orientations can be. But it’s a great feeling to know that the energy was well spent.

It was a tough time when we were trying to decide the class cheers, and frankly, I’m still not very sure of what it is.

Even though we were “blur”, we cheered what we knew during the games and I’m proud that we went past the awkwardness of not being clear and tried our best.

Ice breakers was a chance to get to know our classmates’ name, and I’m horrible at remembering names, but I think I got down most of them already!

Darren's Day 1 reflections! :

Hi  alll! I really had tonnes of fun today. The ice breakers were seriously redundant except to get to know the scholars better, but it was extremely fun overall. The games on the whole were all very fun and I believe has helped us bond better together as one. The treasure hunt was really tiring as we had to do a lot of suck up cheers and running! My team came in 11^th for the treasure hunt and I think that’s super cool cause it;s like 11! I’m feeling kinda tired now but I am still looking forward to tomorrow! That’s all! Cya guys tomorrow!

Day One Reflection: Tristen Tjokro (Not Japanese)

After having slept at 11.45p.m, the night before, I woke up at 5.30a.m this morning. It was fairly normal, you wake up, you brush your teeth, wash your face, putting on pimple cream… Anyways, I continued on to school, and for first time, I had problems finding the toilet and the water cooler. So in the end, I just stood at some lonely corner, comforting myself that I would eventually find it. Carrying on, we had ice-breakers the whole while till 9.25a.m that was when we moved back and forth, left and right, up and down… I was kidding about that last point, but we did move a lot. After settling down, we had the telematch, to only lose in the end by two points. Damn the last question…

We had lunch moments after the event, to only find out the reason why we had an hour and a half to have lunch, was because we had to come up with a cheer at the same time. Not the time to slack, sadly… But we still slacked, a lot. In the end, we somehow managed to come up with a cheer, god knows how? I didn’t bother to find out, I didn’t want to.

Then, we still had the treasure hunt… One word, exhausting and harmful to the throat because of all the sucking up we had to do. You should know what I mean…hopefully. In the end, our class won only because of the awesome tribe 1B! (Thanks to awesome PSL Angela as well!) With that, we gained the lightning bolt from Zeus, earning us extra points, putting us way ahead of the rest ahead. Heck, even our cheer makes sense thanks to this victory.

Overall, I had a fun time today, with no regrets at all about anything in the slightest manner. It was so great; I can’t wait for what lies ahead tomorrow. Peace out and goodnight.

Hello! Everybody! The first day of IPO was so excited.
I met all of you guys and 5 kind PSLs.
Actually, it was much more tired then I expect(maybe just cause our group, B1 ran so fast~~), but I think it is meaningful.
We played a lot of games that I have never played before and we really have great fun!
What is more, I was shocked by our PSLs cheers So excetied!
Our class cheer is also excited~
To be honest, I still cannot remember some of you guys' names and I think my name is hard to remember, too.
Because of this, I became the lucky guy in some games because nobody knows my name!
In China ,I have an English name called Alice, so you can call me Alice if you like.
The internet in my room is too slow, so see you tomorrow :-)

Woke up at 5.55am..
Then went out of bed thinking "OMGOMGOMOMGGGGG FINALLY"
Wasn't sleepy at all. Thanks to youjing.
That dodo tell me to follow her method..
To sleep at 4am on Saturday.. Wake up at 7.30am on Sunday.. Sleep at 10pm on Sunday. [Actually worked!]
So, went to school and was greeted with like total silence. O_O
Went past the G.O. and saw Eri (oh gosh was she Yuri?) and Yuri (oh maybe she was it Eri?)
Then walked to the E. Hub and saw like.. everyone stoning there. :|
OH GOSH.. waiting was horrible. anyways, icebreakers..
We didnt have much ice to break.. Cause we already went out like.. 4 times? :O LOL..
hmm.. icebreakers. The sun and moon game was super fun trying to sabo people. :>
Well didn't have the heart to sabo..
On to the telematch. WAS SUPER AWESOME. LOL.
I salute one school mate from 11v13. Finally did pushups and situps eh? -wink- -wink-

Class cheers were really fun, trying to create cheers. :>. Well, we have 4 days left..

Really learnt a lot about teamwork and stuff.

Overall, I enjoyed the IPO thoroughly as it helped to bond us together as a class, ‘thaw’ the ice among us, and teach us the importance of teamwork. At the start of the day, I did not know the names of some people in my class. But at the end of the day, I knew everyone’s names. Also, over today’s IPO, I got to know my class’ overseas scholars better. I particularly liked the treasure hunt, even though we had to do a lot of ‘sucking up’ to our seniors. To finish the activity in the least possible time, our ‘tribe’ split up the work and everyone focused on his/her task, enabling us to finish 3^rd among 20 teams. Thus, the treasure hunt not only inculcated teamwork, a very important value in VIP life, but also orientate myself to the new campus. The telematch helped us to know everything we needed to know about VJC. Looking forward to the next 4 days :D

Reflection (10/1/11… YAY 11!!! WOOHOO)

After 2 months AND one week of rotting at home and listening to my VS schoolmates complaining about sec 3 life, FINALLY today, the first day of our life in VIP, started! YAY! Haha :D so I woke up very late (7am) and I was too tired, cos during the hols, I woke up waaaay later la haha duh (who doesn’t). then I met Calvin at the bus (YAY) and we went to vjc together. lol

Skip to ice breakers. Ice breakers was AWESOME. And what made it more AWESOME was that my fellow 11 classmates were SUPER ENTHUSIASTIC YAY! Haha so the most enjoyable game was the one with the canvas one. LOL despite the screaming, it was one icebreaking game I had never played before and it was FUN :P I like the way some people scream the names or scream random noises when we do not know the person’s name (especially the scholars. They were like death traps haha)

Telematch was so funneh! (apart from laughing at a certain 11v13 VS schoolmate kena pumping) the actions we were supposed to do were random and unexpected (except for mashpoe and ccf!!!) I have learnt A LOT MORE about vjc after the game (eg. The base colours for class shirts etc are RED YELLOW AND uh I think white haha) though we lost to 11v13, it was all about having fun (AND giving chances!)

We need to work harder on our class cheers! We were all having a staring contest la, when it was time to discuss our class cheer! D: nevermind, we CAN do it! So jys! Woots~
